How to Create Additional FTP Accounts in DirectAdmin #

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) lets you transfer files to and from your web hosting account. Beyond your default FTP login, DirectAdmin lets you create additional FTP accounts — useful for giving a developer, contractor, or teammate access limited to a specific directory.

How to Create an FTP Account #

To create an FTP account in DirectAdmin:

1. Log in to your DirectAdmin control panel by accessing https://yourdomain:2222
2. Navigate to FTP Management (under Account Manager)
3. Click the Create FTP Account button
4. Enter the details: the desired Username, Password, FTP user’s directory
5. Click the Create button

How to Remove an FTP Account #

To remove an FTP account in DirectAdmin:

1. Log in to your DirectAdmin control panel by accessing https://yourdomain:2222
2. Navigate to FTP Management (under Account Manager)
3. Select the FTP account you want to remove.
4. Click the Delete button to permanently remove it.
