How To Setup Email in Outlook

We offer both secure and non-secure methods of connecting to our email server. The secure method protects your password from being intercepted (by using a SSL certificate)

Outlook 2016-2019

Secure Method

1. Launch Outlook
2. Click onFile
3. Click the Account Settingsbutton >Account Settings
4. Click onNew
5. Enterin the email address – Your email accounts username (user@domain.com)
6. Click onAdvanced Options
7. CheckLet me set up my account manually
8. ClickConnect
9. ClickIMAPorPOP3
   1. INCOMING MAIL SERVER:
      • Host Name: dixie.simplywebservices.net (this is our secure email server)
      • User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
      • Password: Your email accounts password
      • Port:IMAP = 993  / POP3 = 995
      • ClickSSL/TLS (Accept all certificate)
   2. OUTGOING MAIL SERVER:
      • Host Name: dixie.simplywebservices.net (this is our secure email server)
      • User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
      • Password: Your email accounts password
      • SMTP Port: 465
      • ClickSSL/TLS (Accept all certificate)
      • Check –This server requires authentication

11. Enter password
12. UncheckSet up Outlook Mobile on my phone, too
13. ClickDone
14. Double click the new account
15. EnterYour Nameand adjust other settings
16. ClickNext
17. ClickDone

Unsecure Method

1. Launch Outlook
2. Click onFile

   1. INCOMING MAIL SERVER:
      • Host Name: mail.domain.com
      • User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
      • Password: Your email accounts password
      • Port:IMAP = 143/ POP3 = 110
      • ClickSSL/TLS (Accept all certificate)
   2. OUTGOING MAIL SERVER:
      • Host Name: mail.domain.com
      • User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
      • Password: Your email accounts password
      • SMTP Port: 25 or 587 (if outgoing mail fails, try port 587)
      • ClickSSL/TLS (Accept all certificate)
      • Check –This server requires authentication

12. UncheckSet up OUtlook Mobile on my phone, too

15. EnterYour Nameand adjust other settings

POP3 downloads the email from a server to a single computer, then deletes the email from the server. On the other hand, IMAP stores the message on a server and synchronizes the message across multiple devices.

Our servers do not support using the secure method and using your domain name, you must use dixie.simplywebservices.net
