We offer both secure and non-secure methods of connecting to our email server. The secure method protects your password from being intercepted (by using a SSL certificate)
Outlook 2016-2019
Secure Method
- Launch Outlook
- Click on File
- Click the Account Settings button > Account Settings
- Click on New
- Enter in the email address – Your email accounts username (user@domain.com)
- Click on Advanced Options
- Check Let me set up my account manually
- Click Connect
- Click IMAP or POP3
- INCOMING MAIL SERVER:
- Host Name: dixie.simplywebservices.net (this is our secure email server)
- User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
- Password: Your email accounts password
- Port: IMAP = 993 / POP3 = 995
- Click SSL/TLS (Accept all certificate)
- OUTGOING MAIL SERVER:
- Host Name: dixie.simplywebservices.net (this is our secure email server)
- User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
- Password: Your email accounts password
- SMTP Port: 465
- Click SSL/TLS (Accept all certificate)
- Check – This server requires authentication
- INCOMING MAIL SERVER:
- Click Next
- Enter password
- Uncheck Set up Outlook Mobile on my phone, too
- Click Done
- Double click the new account
- Enter Your Name and adjust other settings
- Click Next
- Click Done
Unsecure Method
- Launch Outlook
- Click on File
- Click the Account Settings button > Account Settings
- Click on New
- Enter in the email address – Your email accounts username (user@domain.com)
- Click on Advanced Options
- Check Let me set up my account manually
- Click Connect
- Click IMAP or POP3
- INCOMING MAIL SERVER:
- Host Name: mail.domain.com
- User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
- Password: Your email accounts password
- Port: IMAP = 143/ POP3 = 110
- Click SSL/TLS (Accept all certificate)
- OUTGOING MAIL SERVER:
- Host Name: mail.domain.com
- User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
- Password: Your email accounts password
- SMTP Port: 25 or 587 (if outgoing mail fails, try port 587)
- Click SSL/TLS (Accept all certificate)
- Check – This server requires authentication
- INCOMING MAIL SERVER:
- Click Next
- Enter password
- Uncheck Set up OUtlook Mobile on my phone, too
- Click Done
- Double click the new account
- Enter Your Name and adjust other settings
- Click Next
- Click Done
POP3 downloads the email from a server to a single computer, then deletes the email from the server. On the other hand, IMAP stores the message on a server and synchronizes the message across multiple devices.
Our servers do not support using the secure method and using your domain name, you must use dixie.simplywebservices.net
