We offer both secure and non-secure methods of connecting to our email server. The secure method protects your password from being intercepted (by using a SSL certificate)
Secure Method
- Launch Thunderbird
- Click on the Local Folders
- Click on Email
- Enter the required information
- Full Name: Enter the full name for the email account
- Email Address: – Your email accounts username (user@domain.com)
- Password: Enter the password of the email
- Check Remember password
- Click on Configure manually
- Enter the SMTP, IMAP details manually if it doesn’t sync it automatically
- Click on Done
INCOMING MAIL SERVER:

- Host Name: dixie.simplywebservices.net (this is our secure email server)
- User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
- Password: Your email accounts password
- Port: IMAP = 993 / POP3 = 995
- Authentication Method: Normal password
- Connection security: SSL/TLS
OUTGOING MAIL SERVER:

- Host Name: dixie.simplywebservices.net (this is our secure email server)
- User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
- Password: Your email accounts password
- SMTP Port: 465
- Authentication Method: Normal password
- Connection security: SSL/TLS
** You will need to enable one more setting in Thunderbird **
- Launch Thunderbird
- Click on Tools
- Click on Account Settings…
- Click on Outgoing Server (SMTP)
- Select the Outgoing Server by clicking on it
- Click the Edit… button
- Under Security and Authentication, check the “Use name and password“option
Unsecure Method
- Launch Thunderbird
- Click on the Local Folders
- Click on Email
- Enter the required information
- Full Name: Enter the full name for the email account
- Email Address: – Your email accounts username (user@domain.com)
- Password: Enter the password of the email
- Check Remember password
- Click on Configure manually
- Enter the SMTP, IMAP details manually if it doesn’t sync it automatically
- Click on Done

- Port: IMAP = 143 / POP3 = 110
- Authentication Method: Normal password
- Connection security: None
OUTGOING MAIL SERVER:

- Host Name: mail.domain.com
- User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
- Password: Your email accounts password
- SMTP Port: 25 or 587
- Authentication Method: Normal password
- Connection security: None

POP3 downloads the email from a server to a single computer, then deletes the email from the server. On the other hand, IMAP stores the message on a server and synchronizes the message across multiple devices.
Our servers do not support using the secure method and using your domain name, you must use dixie.simplywebservices.net
