2 min read

We offer both secure and non-secure methods of connecting to our email server. The secure method protects your password from being intercepted (by using a SSL certificate)

Secure Method

To add an email account into your iPhone’s “Mail” app:

  1. Tap on Mail
  2. Tap on Other (at the bottom)
  3. Tap on Add Mail Account
  4. Enter in account information
    1. Name: Your user’s first and last name
    2. Email: Your email accounts username (user@domain.com)
    3. Password: Your email accounts password
    4. Description: A brief description of this account
  5. Tap Next
  6. Select IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol)  or POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3)
    1. INCOMING MAIL SERVER:
      • Host Name: dixie.simplywebservices.net (this is our secure email server)
      • User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
      • Password: Your email accounts password
      • Port: IMAP = 993  / POP3 = 995
      • Tap Use SSL
    2. OUTGOING MAIL SERVER:
      • Host Name: dixie.simplywebservices.net (this is our secure email server)
      • User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
      • Password: Your email accounts password
      • SMTP Port: 465
      • Tap Use SSL
  7. Tap Next
  8. Tap Save

Unsecure Method

To add an email account into your iPhone’s “Mail” app:

  1. Tap on Mail
  2. Tap on Other (at the bottom)
  3. Tap on Add Mail Account
  4. Enter in account information
    1. Name: Your user’s first and last name
    2. Email: Your email accounts username (user@domain.com)
    3. Password: Your email accounts password
    4. Description: A brief description of this account
  5. Tap Next
  6. Select IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol)  or POP3 (Post Office Protocol 3)
    1. INCOMING MAIL SERVER:
      • Host Name: mail.domain.com
      • User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
      • Password: Your email accounts password
      • Port: IMAP = 143/ POP3 = 110
    2. OUTGOING MAIL SERVER:
      • Host Name: mail.domain.com
      • User Name: Your email accounts username (ex: user@domain.com)
      • Password: Your email accounts password
      • SMTP Port: 25 or 587 (if outgoing mail fails, try port 587)
  7. Tap Next
  8. Tap Save

POP3 downloads the email from a server to a single computer, then deletes the email from the server. On the other hand, IMAP stores the message on a server and synchronizes the message across multiple devices.

Our servers do not support using the secure method and using your domain name, you must use dixie.simplywebservices.net
