About Client
Friends of Orange County Animal Shelter is an all-volunteer group that cooperates with the county animal shelter to care for shelter pets and place them in loving, caring, adoptive homes. This group was founded in 2019 and supports the Orange County Animal Shelter in Orange County, Virginia. They enhance the lives of shelter animals and help them find homes. Their sole purpose is to raise direct support for the Shelter and its important mission of saving lives.
Project Overview
Challenges
We had two big challenges with this project: the first was integrating with the Petfinder website to display available Dogs and Cats for the Orange County Animal Shelter website. The second challenge was a personal one: not adopting any more pets from the shelter, as we had already adopted several special-needs dogs (we love special-needs pets) from them, and our current dog is from the Orange County Animal Shelter as well.
Solutions
Our mission was to develop a vibrant, modern website for the organization to showcase pets available for adoption. This was a new project for Simply Web Services, built on WordPress.
