Average Joe Weekly is a blog that will feature some things that are near and dear to Joe Average’s heart, including a section about the military, pets, prepping on a tight budget, SEO, Web Design, Bourbon, Online Marketing, Online Penny Investing, Decent Cheap Stuff, Technology, Men’s Health, Music, and Just for Fun. There is something for everyone, including an occasional rant.
Project Overview
Joe contacted us back in 2022 to design his first blog, I Have Some Nerve, which he kept for a few years before having us design Average Joe Weekly and then merging the two blogs together into one. Joe maintains the blog for himself with a little assistance from SWS when needed.
Challenges
This was a pretty straightforward project, and our own Joe (yes, we have one too) and the client hit it off immediately, discovering they’d both served in the Marine Corps.
Solutions
This was a new project for Simply Web Services, built on WordPress with hundreds of pages, by far the biggest (by page count) website that we have designed and hosted.
Logo Design
We also designed a vector graphic-based logo for the client.

From time to time, we take photos of the local Fredericksburg area for inclusion in Joe’s website. More often, Joe uses photos that we have previously taken of the area.
