Website maintenance includes adding and removing content, updating your contact information, your specials, and your blog. It also includes fixing broken links and making changes to the overall look and feel of the website. That includes uploading images or video, and more. But it also includes having up-to-date backups of your website data and overall security of your website.

Let Simply Web Services take care of your website maintenance worries for you. We ensure that not only is your content fresh and up to date, but we also take care of those annoying backups and security headaches, including insecure passwords, malicious code, insecure plugins, outdated WordPress installations and plugins, hacking attempts, vulnerabilities with WordPress, server crashes, and corrupt databases, just to name a few. With a maintenance package from SWS, we handle it all, and you don’t have to worry about anything ever again.

And if we didn’t design the website or we aren’t hosting it on our servers, we are able to update most websites, even if we didn’t design them. Access will always be required for us to update or otherwise manage an existing website.

Beyond keeping your content fresh and your code up-to-date, two of our most popular services are our Domain Name Monitoring and our SSL services.

With our Domain Name Monitor service, we will maintain your domain name(s) for you and alert you when it is coming close to expiring. For our SSL service, we monitor your SSL certificate(s) and provide the same service as with our Domain Name Monitoring service.

They are just the simple things that if you don’t keep active, your website will go down.

Website maintenance is a crucial part of owning a website, and it is also the most overlooked aspect. Many website owners seem to "set it and forget it", which can harm their business. A website must be updated regularly to ensure your business information is accurate and visible to clients, while also improving your search engine rankings. Just like the content needs to be kept up-to-date, the code behind the website must constantly be updated and secure. Many website plugins get updated at least once a month, if not more often. These updates are feature releases and often security updates, patching security holes and vulnerabilities. Check out our website maintenance page for more information about website maintenance.

You can update and maintain your website; we have no issues with our clients who do. However, you are required to keep the WordPress core and plugins updated at least twice a month to avoid possible vulnerabilities, which can cause potential problems with the web server. We do ask that if you are an SEO client, we work as a team so that we are able to ensure that your site is still placing well after the changes or additions made to the site. The words used in your content are a very important part of SEO, and if you go behind us and make changes to the wording that we added, it becomes counterproductive and a waste of your money.

If you rather focus on running your business and want Simply Web Services to maintain your website for you, we can certainly do that for you. All new web design projects include website maintenance for the first year, free of charge, as a value-added feature.

Yes, we can. An example of this would be that you have an event that expires in 30 days and is replaced by a new event. We can remove the old events and replace them  with the new event as needed.

We maintain many sites that we do not host or didn't design. Please call us for a free site review so that we can determine if we can maintain your site. We can maintain most WordPress and HTML sites with no problem.

If you purchase a maintenance contract, we typically complete the requested maintenance within the time outlined in your contract (varies from 3-10 business days depending on the contract level). However, we can make changes within 24 hours during the regular work week if requested.

Maintenance contracts cover routine changes such as adding a single page or making content changes to a page, changing contact info, adding employees, and adding photos to a photo gallery. It does not include redesigning the site, changing the overall look and feel of the website, or adding some features such as eCommerce capabilities. If your changes take longer than average, we can discuss a flat rate for services that include additional items.

If we are making content changes to your website, then no, your website will not go down while we make those changes. If we are performing code updates or similar tasks, we typically do so after normal business hours, usually on weekends, to minimize downtime.
