This location allows us to take advantage of being on the edge of multiple power grids and in an area that isn't prone to many natural disasters. There are multiple different hosting plans we can walk you through depending on your business needs.

Simply put, no. We have found that most "complaint" email practices are not as compliant as we have been led to believe. For this reason, we do not sell or lease servers for that reason. We also do not allow our hosting clients to use our email servers for mass mailings.

Hosting is a critical component for your website; it’s a recurring fee that everyone must pay to have their site live on the internet. We offer hosting services, but there is nothing wrong with procuring hosting for yourself. Just note that hosting is often one of those things that you get what you pay for. Free or budget hosting is usually on "oversold" servers, meaning that they are often way over capacity and full of nefarious websites. Servers that are near, at or over capacity are usually slow and unreliable.

Yes, there can be additional fees, and we strongly believe in being up front with our clients. Your website domain is a recurring fee, which can be purchased in different yearly increments (you are not required to purchase a domain name through us). Some clients have us handle this for them, and if we host the website, we often purchase the domain as well on the client's behalf. In the case of WordPress, there are plug-ins that provide functionality to the website. Most of the time we can get the effect we want with a free plug-in, but sometimes a premium plug-in is called for. In those cases, it can be a one-time fee, or an annual fee. It just depends on the plugin. We always communicate costs if they arise with the client before we move forward.

Typically, we would recommend CAPTCHA, but it has been defeated many times over, which is why we highly recommend OPPSpam for all our clients. In fact, we are so impressed with OOPSpam that it is now included with all the websites that we design and host as a value-added service, at no additional fee. OOPSpam uses AI to detect SPAM from Contact Forms and other web forms, on the fly, moving SPAM into quarantine.

We use SPAMAssassin and ConfigServer MailScanner, which work together to help keep incoming SPAM low on our email servers. However, no Anti-SPAM solution is 100% or foolproof; that is why we recommend that our client set up their email client to help filter SPAM as well. In fact, we find that together, a majority of the SPAM can be eliminated.

For outgoing email, we use Mail.baby, not only scans emails against known signatures and known addresses and quarantines emails that are considered SPAM, but it handles all email whitelisting/blacklisting and delisting as well.

Though this configuration is a few years old, it is very fast, extremely stable and highly cost effective.

We co-locate our servers in a FiberState Data Center in Draper, Utah, just outside of Salt Lake City.

In late 2024, the company that we had been using to co-locate our servers, suddenly closed up, due to the owner passing away. We were forced to scramble to find a suitable new location. After running through a list of hundreds of Data Center locations, we settled on Salt Lake City, Utah, for its natural disaster history, or its lack of natural disasters. Utah averages about two tornadoes per year, averages on earthquake tremor every decade, low risk of wildfires, landslides, hurricanes and Tsunamis. The major flood risk is also very low as is the volcanic activity. There is a notable risk for a winter snow storm or blizzard, however the data center is located in an industrial area, which greatly reduces the effects of a storm.

The data center itself is split across multiple power grids as well (plus onsite solar array). The Data Center includes CCTV surveillance, Biometric Access Control, 24x7 Technical Staff Onsite, Redundant Power and Cooling Systems

The data center is very energy efficient which helps reduce our environmental impact.

Sorry, we do not allow adult websites on our shared hosting servers. The main reason is that many adult websites tend to consume large amounts of resources and it simply wouldn't be fair to the rest of the websites on that server. However, if you have an adult website that you need hosted, we have a solution for you.
