# How To Display Email Headers

# How To Display Email Headers

Email headers can be important when tracking and tracing an email; your ISP or web host may ask for them from time to time.

## **Gmail**

1. In **Gmail**, open '**original**' email
2. Click the menu button (down arrow next to the Reply button)
3. Choose **Show original**

## **Mail for macOS**

1. From the **View** menu
2. Select **Message**
3. Select **All Headers** or **Long Headers**

## **Outlook 2016 (for Mac)**

1. **Right-click** (or Ctrl-click) the message (do not actually open the message)
2. Select **View Source**

## **Outlook (for Windows)**

1. **Right-click** on the email message
2. Select **Properties**
3. Click **Details**
4. Select **Message Source**

## **RoundCube**

1. Log in to **RoundCube Webmail**
2. **Open** the email message
3. Click on the **More** option, then select the **Show Source** icon

## **Thunderbird**

1. Open the email message
2. In the Menu, select **View**
3. Select **Message Source**
