# How to Create Additional FTP Accounts in DirectAdmin

FTP (File Transfer Protocol) lets you transfer files to and from your web hosting account. Beyond your default FTP login, DirectAdmin lets you create additional FTP accounts — useful for giving a developer, contractor, or teammate access limited to a specific directory.

## How to Create an FTP Account

To create an FTP account in **DirectAdmin**:

1. [Log in to your DirectAdmin](https://simplywebservices.net/docs/how-to-log-into-the-directadmin-control-panel/) control panel by accessing https://yourdomain:2222
2. Navigate to **FTP Management**(under **Account Manager**)
3. Click the **Create FTP Account** button
4. Enter the details: the desired **Username**, **Password**, **FTP user’s** directory
5. Click the **Create** button

### How to Remove an FTP Account

To remove an FTP account in **DirectAdmin**:

1. [Log in to your DirectAdmin](https://simplywebservices.net/docs/how-to-log-into-the-directadmin-control-panel/) control panel by accessing https://yourdomain:2222
2. Navigate to **FTP Management**(under **Account Manager**)
3. Select the FTP account you want to remove.
4. Click the **Delete**button to permanently remove it.
