## Domain Registration and DNS

The timeframe above applies only to your **hosting account**. If you're also registering a new domain name or pointing an existing one to us, that involves a separate step through your domain registrar and can take longer:

- **New domain registration** usually takes from a few minutes to a few hours.
- **DNS propagation** — the time for your domain to fully "see" your new hosting worldwide — can take up to 72 hours, though it's often much faster in practice.
